We wanted to create a way that revenue managers could make sense of millions of new data points such as airbnb searches, skyscanner searches, and hotel bookings in order to show demand for a city on a given day. We also wanted to provide a recovery tool for hotels navigating their way through the current Covid-19 crisis.
The design team worked closely with our data scientists for the best recommendations on how to read and visualize search data which was forward looking and new for the industry.
We were able to facilitate a back and fourth nature of iteration and whiteboarding which led us to an initial beta phase to test the tool with clients in the field. In June, we launched the product virtually along with a self-service component, which was a company first as well.
